ATTENTION FLORIDIANS!!!!!!!!
An amendment has been approved for the ballot November 2012 that would ALLOW PUBLIC (GOVT) FUNDING TO GO TO RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS, calling it the “Florida Religious Freedom Amendment.”
as if the fucking churches don’t have enough money?!?!?! as if they aren’t powerful enough as it is, as if they don’t already have their grubby hands up our politicians’ asses puppeteering sufficiently on their own???
Per ballotpedia, “Essentially, the measure moves to repeal the state’s ban of public dollars for religious funding.”
http://ballotpedia.org/wiki/index.php/Florida_Religious_Freedom_Amendment_%282012%29
As Tallahassee Humanist Mark Palmer explained, “There have already been sufficient violations of this clause in the funneling of public funds to aid religious organizations, that the legislature has decided it will be easier to change the law than to fight the law suits challenging the use of your tax money to fund religion.
It is to the benefit of every minority belief group—Mormons, Jews, Muslims, Atheists, Hindus, etc.—to fight this amendment. Come November 2012, we need to stand together and keep the state and local government accountable for the use of our tax dollars and in support of equal rights for all belief groups.”
PLEASE spread the word about this UNCONSTITUTIONAL amendment, and let your loved ones in FLORIDA know THAT IT HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH FREEDOM.
